Went to a fabulous conference yesterday (thanks to the Legal Education and Training Group www.letg.org.uk). Plenty of chance to catch up with old friends and to meet new and interesting people. Two particularly good sessions, one on continuous improvement in legal transactions. Clifford Chance appear to have cracked the holy grail of getting lawyers to manage projects. The other was about the ageing brain, by Geoff Bird, a cognitive neuroscientist. He debunked a whole load of myths – apparently the male and female brains are no different physically! He also confirmed that flitting from one task to another is really bad for concentration (Note for teenage son – you shouldn’t keep hopping between homework and Facebook!) I came away with many good ideas for developing and improving the training I offer still further.
